Our Review
The Naif Museum, housed within the reconstructed Naif Fort in the heart of Deira, offers a unique perspective on Dubai's development through the lens of its police force and security services. While it may not be the first museum tourists think of when visiting Dubai, it provides genuinely fascinating insights into how law enforcement evolved in tandem with one of the world's fastest-growing cities.
The museum chronicles the history of Dubai Police from its establishment in the 1950s, when a small team of officers maintained order in a compact trading town, through to the high-tech, globally connected force of today. Exhibits include vintage vehicles, uniforms, weapons, documentation from notable cases, and the evolution of forensic techniques employed in the emirate.
With free admission and a location in the bustling Deira district β surrounded by traditional souks and the vibrant commerce of old Dubai β the Naif Museum offers a distinctive contrast to the more blockbuster attractions elsewhere in the city and rewards curious visitors with stories they won't find in any other museum in the UAE.
